Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Renewa (“Renewa”, “we”, “us”) handles your information when you use the Renewa mobile application (the “App”). Renewa is operated by an individual developer based in the United Arab Emirates. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@renewa.ae.

1. Who we are

Renewa is a household document and renewal tracking app. It helps you keep track of expiry dates for documents such as visas, Emirates IDs, vehicle registration (Mulkiya), tenancy contracts (Ejari), health insurance, and passports — for yourself, your family, your domestic staff, your vehicles, and your property.

Renewa is currently operated by an individual (a solo developer), not a registered company.

2. What information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication details needed to sign you in.

Information you add to the App. Renewa only stores what you choose to enter. This may include:

• Names and details of household members, staff, vehicles, and property you add
• Document types, reference numbers, issue dates, and expiry dates you enter
• Photos or scans of documents you choose to upload to the document vault
• Notes or other details you add to records

You decide what to put into the App. You are not required to upload document photos — you can use Renewa with manually entered dates only.

Technical information. To keep the App working and secure, we may process basic technical data such as device push-notification tokens (so we can send you renewal reminders) and limited diagnostic information.

We do not collect your information for advertising, and we do not sell your data.

3. How we use your information

We use your information only to provide the App's core function:

• To store and display the documents and records you add
• To calculate renewal dates and send you reminders before documents expire (by push notification and email)
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure
• To respond to support requests you send us

We do not use your documents or personal data for advertising, profiling unrelated to the service, or sale to third parties.

4. Sensitive documents

Renewa is designed to hold sensitive identity documents (for example passports and Emirates IDs). We take this seriously:

• Your data is protected by access controls so that only your account can access your household's records.
• Document photos are stored in secure storage and accessed through time-limited secure links.
• You control your documents and can delete any record, photo, or your entire account at any time (see Section 8).

5. Who we share information with (service providers)

We do not sell your data. We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the App. They process data only to provide their service to us:

• Supabase — our database, authentication, and file storage provider. Your account data and any documents you upload are stored on Supabase's infrastructure.
• Resend — our email provider, used to deliver renewal reminder emails.
• Expo (Expo Push Notifications) — used to deliver push-notification reminders to your device.

These providers process your data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

6. Where your data is stored (international transfer)

Your data is stored on our database provider's infrastructure (Supabase), located in theNortheast Asia (Tokyo) region, which isoutside the United Arab Emirates. This means your information is transferred to and stored in a country other than the UAE.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete a record or document, it is removed from active storage. If you delete your account, we delete your associated data.

8. Your rights and choices

You can, at any time:

• View, edit, or delete any document or record you have added
• Delete your entire account and associated data from within the App
• Contact us at privacy@renewa.ae with any privacy request

9. Children

Renewa is intended for adults managing a household. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data directly from children. A parent or guardian may choose to add a child's document details to their own household records.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures including access controls, encrypted connections, and secure file storage to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top, and where appropriate notify you in the App.
